SUMMARY:Family Trail Run & Hike @ White Pine Trail
DESCRIPTION:DSNO families and friends are invited to two opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with us. \nSaturday\, June 6 | 7-9 AM (Trail Run) | 9:15 AM (2-mile hike and/or cool down)\nTrail Run: We will meet at the trailhead and begin running promptly at 7 AM\, with the run wrapping up around 9 AM. The route is designed as a figure-8 loop\, which allows participants to shorten their run or drop out at roughly 2-mile intervals if needed. \nHike: After the run\, we are also hosting an optional 2-mile hike/cool down starting at 9:15 AM from the same trailhead. \nOne thing to note: trail running includes uneven terrain\, and runners and hikers may encounter roots\, rocks\, and other natural obstacles along the course. Together\, they will share their extraordinary journey and the lessons behind their “1% Better” philosophy. Attendees will also hear from Karen Gaffney\, accomplished athlete\, advocate\, and founder of the Karen Gaffney Foundation. Karen will share her personal journey and highlight the importance of lifelong support\, education\, and physical fitness. \nThe event also includes a Community Spotlight Panel featuring Oregon organizations advancing opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities\, plus a live Q&A and networking session. \nThe Power of Possible inspires attendees to turn possibility into action by strengthening connections\, expanding opportunities\, and helping build communities where everyone belongs.
