Please join Claire and her family at this year’s Buddy Walk to celebrate special people who sport an extra chromosome. We love to come to Buddy Walk every year. It is such a fun party! Join Taylor and the team on September 22nd for the DSNO Buddy Walk!

Taylor is a sweet and sassy 15 month old who loves the outdoors and can’t wait to show her three-tooth smile 😊. She is excited to have her family and friends support her for her first Buddy Walk! (She made a late appearance last year, arriving just as the walk was wrapping up)

If you are unable to make it, we ask that you please consider a donation to the Down Syndrome Network of Oregon. We hope to see you there!

Taylor, Erin, and John

Our sweet baby boy Hudson was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth. After his birth he spent a week in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a little extra help breathing. Hudson has 5 siblings, Jordan, Lillian, Kaleb, Delilah and Madisen, all who love him so much! After his birth we were faced with many unknowns surrounding Down syndrome and what the future would hold. Through DSNO we are learning, through others’ experiences, what to expect and how to react to our new circumstances. We are asking for your donations to help us reach our fundraising goal so DNSO can continue to offer

Everyone,
Please join me at the Buddy Walk for my son Keeran! Keeran is a super hero and was born with Down syndrome sixteen years ago. We are trying to raise money for his cause.
If you can’t walk with me, please donate money and join Keeran’s Heroes!;)

Thank you for taking the time to come and support our Kenny girl. Kenny adds a little silliness to everything she does. Her bigger than life personality shines most when she is with her family and friends. She commands the attention of a room by grabbing her guitar and shouts, “Okay everybody, okay!! Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you…” (well you know the song), but she makes sure to finish by giving you imaginary candle to blow out, tells you to “make a wish, and eat your caaaaaaake!!” Word of advice: Don’t do it the wrong way because then she will have to show the correct way to blow out a candle. This only happens about 20 times a day, or when she tells everyone she meets, “Nice to meet you, you’re a cat!!!” She is a total cat person! Her teachers tell us she is the best hand washer in class, as she must finish singing the entire alphabet before rinsing. Everyday we are in awe by her ability to accomplish anything she sets her mind too. Recently she has mastered jumping with two feet, letter recognition (almost 100%), unlocking Ipads to watch her favorite Youtube shows, climbing a rockwall, swimming with her floaties, and locking her babysitters out, telling them to “Go away!!” The laughter this tiny little human brings to our lives and all those she meets is magical. I could ramble on and on, but would love it more to share stories at the annual DSNO Buddy walk, where she might break out into her one of a kind dance moves, along with all her other homies rockin’ an extra chromie. Come join us for all the fun, or even donate as this is a foundation that changes the lives for so many, I sure know it did for us!!

Portlandians is a team of 6 families of Indian origin brought together by their children who have Down Syndrome.

Nishanth, 17, is a junior at Mountainside High. He actively participates in his High school swim team as well as in Challenger Basketball. Nishanth loves watching movies, hanging out with family/friends and volunteering in community activities.

Sid, 12, describes himself as “ Good looks just aren’t enough. I am smart, polite and obedient to boot.”

Neil, 10, loves to play soccer, and dance to music.

Ashrith,9, is a smart, friendly and fun loving guy. He lights up everyone around him with his personality. We are so lucky to be part of his life.

Rhea, 4, is sweet, loving, gentle girl. She loves dogs, music (not loud though), splashing in water, painting, colouring books and her most favorite playing role of teacher.

Tejas, 3, loves playing ball, going to the park, building blocks, reading books, and being pampered by his large family.

We hope you join us in celebrating them at the Buddy Walk. Please join our team by registering on this page. If you are unable to join, please consider making a donation to sustain DSNO (Down Syndrome Network of Oregon). DSNO is a leading local resource for Down Syndrome support and offers a range of community-based programs to build an outstanding support organization for families, friends and individuals with Down syndrome.

We are sad that we are going to miss the Buddy Walk this year. We hope you have a great walk and a fun time.

Please come and support this amazing organization and walk with us. Sarah is a ray of sunshine in our family, and we each are a better person because of her. Sarah loves Lightning McQueen, traveling to the beach, flying on an airplane, swimming, boating, and movies.

Hello all! Please come and support this amazing organization and walk with us. Miles is such a bright light in our family. Which if you’re on this page you already know that! Come walk with Miles, he’ll show you how to wave to everyone he meets, greet the world with the biggest smile, and sing Old McDonald along the way. We’d love to see you there!

We are so excited for the 2019 Buddy Walk and so grateful for your support. Abigail’s life is enriched by each of you and we thank you for being a part of her Village.

Calling all friends and family, please join us this year for the Buddy Walk. Our family enjoys doing the Buddy Walk every year. When Anna was born we did not know that she had Down Syndrome till after birth. Paula came to the hospital to talk with us and brought us a Hope basket. Receiving the basket was a blessing to our family as we didn’t know much about Down Syndrome. Our family has enjoyed the activities that DSNO offers: Family Picnic at Oaks Park, CHAP (Children’s Healing Art Project) through DSNO is offered once a month, and last year I was blessed to go on a mom’s weekend retreat and it was an amazing time hanging out with moms that have other kiddos with DS.

Anna is a blessing from the Lord and knows how to reach and touch peoples’ hearts. If someone is having a bad day, Anna knows how to get that person to smile and to bring joy to them. Anna has a sweet and gentle spirit when she is around babies and other kiddos with special needs.

Come Walk/Support Austin!

If you know Ben then you know a boy filled with energy, love, and the desire to be your friend. He has inspired us, challenged us, and taught us so much about the importance of life and that every life should be valued. He’s our ice breaker in a room of strangers and our perspective giver when life seems unfair.
When Ben was born we were welcomed into a family we never expected to join. We weren’t prepared for the challenges ahead but DSNO gave us the support, relationships, education, and the training needed for this journey.
You bring smiles to our lives, Ben. We are excited for your friends and family to honor you at this year’s Buddy Walk. WE LOVE YOU BEN!!

It’s Buddy Walk Time. Join Brooklyn a.k.a Boogie and Team Boogie Down for the morning walk and celebrate the day with us. We look forward to celebrating another great day with all of our favorite people.
.

We hope you will consider supporting Team Emma, and Down Syndrome Network Oregon. This organization provides support to individuals with Down syndrome, as well as their families. The walk is such a fun event that celebrates the value of all individuals. We appreciate all of your support and encouragement. We hope to see you at the walk.

We invite you to join us at the DSNO Buddy Walk the morning of Sunday, September 22nd at Millennium Plaza Park in Lake Oswego. It’s a day of fun and activities, a short walk around the park, and celebrating with family and friends, new and old.

We look forward to having you there, in person or in spirit! Thank you for your friendship, love and support.

I cannot believe it has been almost a year since the last Buddy Walk.

She is attending the YMCA’s Summer Camp again and having a great time and loving the field trips, especially to the Rainbow Trout Farm and Enchanted Forest!

She continues doing her weekly gymnastics, swimming, Special Olympics Golf and just started Cheerleading again this year with Oregon Dream Team on their Inspire Team! She loves Cheerleading!

She LOVES to attend all the functions that our wonderful DSNO group sponsors.

One of her other favorite events is the Oaks Park Picnic, along with Polar Express Party, Christmas Caroling, and of course THE BUDDY WALK!

Without the help and sponsors from our Friends/Family our wonderful DSNO group would not be able to put on all these activities for the kids and families. The Dad’s dinner, the Mom’s Coffee’s, Buddy Walk, Oaks Park, PolarExpress and Talent Show just to name a few.

We would love to see everyone come out on Sun Sept 22nd to walk with us to support Nicole, all her Buddies and Down Syndrome Awareness. If you cannot walk you can also donate on line and make sure to click “Team Nicole Williams.”

Thank you and Love to you all

Nancy, Rick, Angelina and Nicole

Hello friends and family. As you all know Serenity is an amazing bright light to all those who meet her. Each year we walk with Serenity to honor and support an amazing community full of inspiring individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We hope you can join us this year at Buddy Walk 2019!

Isaiah is our favorite homie with an extra chromie!!!!! We are looking forward to being a part of this years buddy walk Lake Oswego. Our team name came from his sister who deeemed his great smile “his squishy face” !!! Come walk and support us and all those with great “squishy” faces!!!

Becoming pregnant with Thomas was a big surprise to his mom and dad, but not his sister. She will tell you that he is an answer to her prayers, and he is . Well, his arrival two months earlier than expected was also a surprise. He came out not needing oxygen and very alert. Another surprise was the suspicion by the doctors of a trisomy-21 diagnosis, commonly known as Down syndrome. The news of his diagnosis was troubling, because Thomas was doing well. It did not help that the delivery of Thomas’ condition came with condemnation and apologies from the neonatologist. The Down Syndrome Network Oregon (DSNO) gave his mom, Kristal, an opportunity to visit with other mothers who are walking a similar path.

DSNO supports families through:

Smaller group gatherings that are educational as well as emotionally supportive.

Large group gatherings, like DSNO night at Oaks Park and the Buddy Walk.

Providing educational scholarships and providing monetary support to parents to attend the national DS conference.

And, more!

Thomas is a great addition to the family. He brings so much joy and an amazing perspective on life to everyone he meets.

Steve, Kristal, Claire, and Thomas will be at the 2019 Buddy Walk. They would love to have you join them. If you can’t come to the walk, please consider making a donation to this wonderful organization. When you sign up, DSNO will send Kristal an email confirmation and she will make a special Buddy Button for each participant. Team Thomas will be happy to send you your t-shirt(s) and buddy bag if you can’t make it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope that you will join Team Thomas this fall in our 7th Buddy Walk with DSNO.

It’s that time of year again! The annual Down Syndrome Buddy Walk! We would love you all to come out and support Team Tyler! It’s so much fun and lots of dancing!

Big thanks to the wonderful team at DSNO! Again, we are very excited to be part of this great event.

Though Willie may be missing a part of his 17th chromosome, he is not lacking in gusto and a zest for life. It seems that nothing slows him down, as he is very active with his buddies and in all manner of sporting events. His positive attitude and signature smile is infectious, and he is blessed to have the enthusiastic support of his friends and family.

Please come join Willie and the rest of the buddies for an inspiring event that will lift your spirit and serve a great cause!

Hi Friends,
Our family is participating in the Down Syndrome Network Oregon Buddy Walk on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Millennium Square in downtown Lake Oswego.

We love Zach and want him to have many experiences and opportunities for learning. We hope that DSNO will help the schools recognize the need for aids, specialists and other supportive educational needs for children like Zach, to have the optimum educational and life experiences.

Zachie has a twin brother named Gabe and they are best friends. They are both in the 3rd grade at Markham Elementary School. Gabe is very patient with Zach and they enjoy playing, wrestling, tickling each other and reading books together.

Please sign up to join our team. If you cannot join us and would like to donate to our team, please go to the DSNO site https://dsno.org/buddy-walk and donate to our team, “TEAM ZACHIE”. .Hope to see you at the Buddy Walk.

Thanks for helping out,
Ariel (Grandma and Team Coordinator), Zachie, Gabe, Mama Radha, Daddy Andrej, Grandpa Peter

Eden is such a bright and unique little girl who is definitely in her own amazing world. We found out she had a 1 in 8 chance of Down syndrome when I was six months pregnant and was confirmed at birth. She has overcome every obstacle that has came at her and we are so proud to be her parents.
