The Power of Possible

The Power of Possible, an event that celebrates the limitless potential of individuals with Down syndrome. This special gathering will bring people together through powerful stories, meaningful connections, and shared experiences that inform, inspire, and strengthen community. At the heart of the event are stories of courage, perseverance, and possibility.

Featured speakers include Chris Nikic, the first person with Down syndrome to complete an IRONMAN® triathlon, and his father Nik Nikic. Together, they will share their extraordinary journey and the lessons behind their “1% Better” philosophy. Attendees will also hear from Karen Gaffney, accomplished athlete, advocate, and founder of the Karen Gaffney Foundation. Karen will share her personal journey and highlight the importance of lifelong support, education, and physical fitness.

The event also includes a Community Spotlight Panel featuring Oregon organizations advancing opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, plus a live Q&A and networking session.
